BIM-based safety design for emergency evacuation of metro stations

Abstract Metro stations are the hubs of urban rail transit, and large numbers people usually gather inside them. Various types emergency can lead to a need for evacuation. However, there few studies on proactively reducing evacuation risks through design safety (DFS) concept, these pose serious threats operational metro stations. Therefore, in this research, fragmented DFS pre-control measures mitigating were comprehensively identified classified, indicators evaluating effect operation phase improved. Moreover, combination application method BIM platform, intelligent tools provided station designers so that they may apply concept risk mitigation real cases.
